Ather Konarc Battery Details Leak Ahead of August 29 Launch

Ather Energy will launch the new Konarc electric scooter on August 29 at its annual Community Day event. The scooter will sit below the 450 series and Rizta in Ather's range. Moreover, it will use the company's new EL platform and target family buyers.

Ather Konarc Could Get Six Variants

According to leaked details, Ather could offer the Konarc in six variants. These may include four S variants, SR1, SR2, SR3 and SR4. The range could also include two higher-spec Q variants, QR2 and QR3.

This wide lineup could help Ather attract buyers with different budgets and range needs. It will also put the Konarc against scooters such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 and Hero Vida VX2.

New Battery Could Offer Up to 200 Km Range

One of the biggest highlights could be Ather's new Bedrock battery. The leaked details suggest four claimed IDC range options of 100 km, 125 km, 160 km and up to 200 km.

Ather has not revealed the battery capacities yet. However, the EL platform can support battery packs ranging from 2kWh to 5kWh. Therefore, the Konarc could offer more range choices than other Ather Electric Scooters in the current lineup. 

Built-In Charger and Faster Charging

The Konarc could get a built-in 450W charger, allowing users to charge it directly from a standard household socket. In addition, buyers may get an optional second 450W charger.

Using both chargers together could raise the charging output to 900W. This setup may charge the battery from 0 to 80% in around two hours.

Airwalk Feature and Longer Service Interval

The new scooter could also get an Airwalk feature that helps riders move the scooter using motor assistance. This may make parking and moving the scooter on ramps easier. Moreover, the Konarc may need scheduled service only once every 10,000 km or one year, whichever comes first. Its drivetrain could also offer a quieter riding experience than Ather's existing scooters.

The Konarc will feature an upright riding position, spacious floorboard and comfortable seat. Perhaps these changes will help Ather attract more family scooter buyers. Ather will reveal the official price, specifications and variant details on August 29.
