Zelio E-Mobility plans a new manufacturing facility in Coimbatore to expand its EV operations in southern India. The upcoming plant will cover around 39,000 square feet and handle electric scooter assembly, storage, and logistics activities. The company will begin facility setup in April 2026, while commercial operations may start by July 2026.
Managing Director Kunal Arya said the southern market continues to show strong demand for electric mobility. Therefore, the new plant will improve supply chain efficiency and speed up deliveries. In addition, the facility will support the company’s growing dealer network across southern states.
The Coimbatore unit will become the fourth manufacturing facility for Zelio in India. The company already operates major production plants in Haryana and Odisha. One facility runs in Ladwa, Haryana, covering about 2,63,450 square feet and serving northern markets. Another unit operates in Patan, Haryana, with a production area of around 2,52,301 square feet.
In addition, Zelio operates a manufacturing and assembly unit in Cuttack that spans about 30,500 square feet. These facilities support production, assembly, and regional distribution across different parts of India. However, the new Coimbatore plant will bring manufacturing closer to southern markets and reduce logistics costs.
Zelio produces electric two-wheelers under the Zelio brand and electric three-wheelers under the Tanga name. Its electric scooter lineup includes models such as X Men, Gracy, Eeva, Logix, and the high-speed Mystery.
Meanwhile, the Tanga lineup includes electric rickshaw models like Butterfly and Fine for passenger mobility and last-mile transport. The company currently operates more than 350 dealer outlets across over 20 states and union territories.
The expansion follows the company’s public listing in 2025. Zelio raised around Rs 78.34 crore through its initial public offering. The company’s shares are listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange SME platform at Rs 154.90, showing a premium over the issue price.
Later, the company reported Rs 134.78 crore revenue in the first half of FY26. Profit after tax reached Rs 11.87 crore, supporting the brand’s continued expansion in India’s EV market.
