Royal Enfield could launch the new Himalayan 440 in India in September 2026. The upcoming motorcycle will use the Scram 440’s engine and platform while bringing back the Himalayan 411’s familiar design. In addition, it could appeal to riders who prefer a simpler adventure motorcycle.
The Himalayan 450 offers a more powerful engine and modern features such as a TFT display and navigation. However, some riders who prefer Royal Enfield Bikes may still like the Himalayan 411’s simple design and easy riding experience.
Perhaps the Himalayan 440 can fill this gap. It is expected to use the same LS440 engine as the Scram 440. This engine produces 25.4 hp and 34 Nm, which is a small improvement over the Himalayan 411’s engine.
The biggest difference between the Himalayan 440 and Scram 440 could come from their wheel setup. The Scram 440 uses a 19 inch front wheel and 17 inch rear wheel. Meanwhile, the Himalayan 440 could get a 21 inch front wheel with spoke rims and tubed tyres for better off road use.
The bike could also get around 200mm of front suspension travel, similar to the Himalayan 411. Moreover, its seat height could stay around 800mm, making it easier to handle than the current Himalayan 450. The Himalayan 440 may also get a six speed gearbox without a slipper clutch. However, Royal Enfield has not confirmed its final specifications yet.
Pricing could place the motorcycle between the Scram 440 and Himalayan 450. The Scram 440 costs Rs. 2.32 lakh, while the Himalayan 450 starts higher. Therefore, the Himalayan 440 could offer a middle ground for adventure bike buyers.
Royal Enfield has not confirmed the launch date or price yet. However, more details should emerge closer to its expected September 2026 launch.
