Ola Gig and Gig+ Budget Delivery Electric Scooters Discontinued

Ola Electric has quietly removed its planned Gig and Gig+ electric scooters from official listings in India. These models were introduced as low cost delivery focused scooters for urban usage and last mile services. However, both scooters never reached showrooms despite multiple public appearances and announcements. Therefore, their sudden removal from the website strongly hints at discontinuation. Ola Electric has not issued any formal statement yet regarding this decision.

What This Means for Ola’s Budget Scooter Line-up

With the Gig project no longer visible, Ola Electric currently offers no ultra budget electric scooter. Therefore, buyers must now start with the Ola S1 X in the company’s portfolio. The S1 X with a 2kWh battery pack is priced at Rs. 84,999 and remains Ola’s most affordable option on sale.

The Gig and Gig+ electric scooters are no longer visible on Ola Electric’s official website product pages. Usually, Ola lists only available or upcoming models on its platform, hence this change is important. Moreover, the company has silently taken this step without any public clarification. This suggests that the project may have been shelved internally due to delays or shifting priorities.

Announced in 2024, Displayed in 2025, But Never Sold

Ola first revealed the Gig range in late 2024 as affordable delivery scooters for city based operations for the commuters. Later, both models were showcased at Auto Expo 2025, increasing expectations among commercial buyers. The Ola Gig was introduced at Rs 39,999, while the Gig+ carried an introductory price of Rs 49,999. However, repeated delivery delays meant these scooters never reached customers.

Planned Features of the Ola Gig Range

The Ola Gig scooters were designed with removable batteries to allow quick swaps and easier charging. In addition, they featured simple hardware and dedicated cargo mounting points for delivery use. The idea was to keep costs low while improving daily usability. However, these features remained limited to display units & official announcements.
