Hero Xtreme 125R Gets a Big Upgrade with Dual-Channel ABS

Published at November 9, 2025 | By BikeJunction

Hero MotoCorp has introduced a new top-end version of its sporty commuter bike Hero Xtreme 125R at Rs 1,04,500 (ex-showroom). In addition, this update makes the Xtreme 125R the only motorcycle in the 125 cc sporty commuter segment to come with dual-channel ABS as standard. The other variants remain priced lower: the ABS versions at Rs 92,500 and the IBS variant at Rs 89,000.

Design and Colours

While the underlying design remains unchanged, the new Dual Channel ABS variant stands out with three new colour schemes: Black Pearl Red, Black Matshdow Grey, and Black Leaf Green. In addition to the fresh colours, the graphics layout has been slightly updated to reflect its top-trim status.

Powertrain & Performance
upgraded Hero Xtreme 125R

The Xtreme 125R still uses a 124.7 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. It delivers approximately 11.4 PS of power and 10.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The claimed mileage remains around 66 km per litre, which makes it efficient for daily riding.

Features and Technology

In addition to the dual-channel ABS, the new variant brings in some tech upgrades too. You’ll get a 4.2-inch colour LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts. There is also the ride-by-wire electronic throttle and three riding modes.

While cruise control is offered, perhaps it may not be especially practical in heavy Indian traffic, but it does show how feature-rich this 125 cc bike has become. The suspension setup stays the same with a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear, and disc brakes at both ends.
