The R 1300 GS will replace the current BMW R 1250 GS in the future. The model has already been seen on test drives. Furthermore, on social media, BMW began hinting at the upcoming model. You can see a motorcycle covered with a tarp. The news confirms that the new BMW bike has a planned release in 2023. If you try to guess the shape under the tarp, the silhouette might fit the GS. There are no other hints about the model. BMW only mentions its 100th anniversary this year. When is the best time to introduce the new BMW R 1300 GS, even if it is not yet known exactly when the model will be submitted or released?

What has changed in the R 1300 GS?

The first photos of the prototype show further development of the chassis and bodywork. There are changes to the frame, and the paralever single-sided swingarm has been redesigned. As a result, the body looks more compact and aggressive.

The new BMW 1300 GS has certainly been slimmed down. As a result, you can expect less weight than the outgoing model.

It can be assumed that the new GS will also be equipped with the latest technology. In addition, of course, a new radar system will also be installed in it, with the help of which, it will be possible to implement remote cruise control among other things. However, it is still being determined whether the radar system will already be standard or only offered as an option.

Large boxer engine

It is expected that the new engine will also have a gearshift system. The previous engine was still two-thirds air-cooled, but in the future, the 1300cc engine will be all-fluid, which could boost performance even further. It's still being determined how high that will be, though top performance has never been a top priority for touring enduro.
