Suzuki to Launch its First Electric Scooter in India By FY2025

In a recent global press, officials from Suzuki announced that their upcoming electric 2-wheeler product for India would be an ideal small-midsize motorbike. The new EV will be suitable for daily commutes to work, school, or simply running errands around the city.

While in the press release, the word "motorcycle" was used, we anticipate that this could just be a language translation. And that the first electric product by the company will be, in fact, an electric scooter. However, there had been rumors swirling around that the company was working on an electric scooter and would launch it in 2020, which was changed due to the pandemic.

Suzuki Burgman electrified scooter has been spied testing multiple times over the past 2 years. They are making it highly likely that it could be, in fact, the company's first 2W electric vehicle.

As of now, though, Honda is the only brand that has set foot in the electric vehicle market through its Activa Electric, set to be launched in 2024. Both are marketed towards being effortless and easy runarounds through the city rather than being performance-oriented and sporty-looking offerings.
