The 36 kmpl mileage has made this bike much easier to own than I expected. I ride it regularly without thinking too much about fuel expenses. What keeps me coming back, though, is the 233 cc engine. It feels lively enough to make every ride enjoyable without becoming difficult to manage. Some bikes stay parked for days. This one rarely gets the chance.

I wanted something dependable and fun for exploring off-road trails, and the KLX230 delivers perfectly. The 233 cc air-cooled engine is very powerful. Because it is air-cooled, the bike is lighter, and there is no radiator or coolant to worry about damaging if you drop it on a rough trail. With 19 Nm torque, it has amazing low-end pull. It chugs right up steep, loose dirt hills and climbs out of muddy ruts without requiring you to constantly rev the engine hard.
