The chain cleaning starts with a quick ride that lasts around ten minutes. By increasing the chain's temperature, the dirt will be loosened, and the cleaner will be able to enter more easily.

Put the bike on a stand and spray cleaner on the chain. You can use kerosene if you don't have cleaner. Spray on the inner surface and on top of the chain by rotating the tyre at the same time.

Take two brushes: a hard brush for stubborn dirt and a soft bristle brush for rollers and links. Brush the chain on both the inner and outer sides. If the chain is drying up, apply a small burst of chain cleaner.

Use a soft cotton rag or an old T-shirt to wipe the chain. Gently pinch the rollers between your thumb and finger. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the chain cleaner to evaporate completely.

Now, spray a preferred chain lube in short bursts, similar to step 2. Next day, with a clean rag, wipe off the excessive lubricant to reduce the splatter while riding. You are ready to roll now.
